Join us for a tour of Sheffield Museum’s Natural Science collections at our storage facility in the East of the city.

Step behind the scenes with Alistair McLean, Curator of Natural Science, for a whistle-stop tour of the city’s geological and biological specimens, collected over the last 200 years. Together, they tell the story of the amazing natural heritage of the Sheffield area and beyond. See James Puttrell’s remarkable mineral collection and find out how well it stood up to a Second World War bomb! Discover why there are holes in the Giant’s Causeway and what a collection of insects can tell us about our future.

Due to the nature of the tour, numbers are limited to 10 people and booking is essential.

While we are striving to make the store as accessible as possible, limited space means that we cannot currently accommodate wheelchairs on this tour.
