Txt Manor brought a group of young people from Sheffield’s Manor Estate together with artists, costume makers, new media experts, musicians, youth workers, the 16th century Manor Lodge and Mary, Queen of Scots.
During the 18 months of the project the young people participated in a wide range of creative activity including art, sculpture and costume workshops, visits to historic sites contemporary with Manor Lodge, new media workshops, drama workshops and dancing, and created artwork for display at the newly renovated Weston Park Museum.
The project culminated with the opening of Weston Park Museum by Princess Anne in February 2007, and a final celebration event for those involved in the project in March 2007.
Txt Manor was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots programme.
