We’re celebrating the Festival of Archaeology with a host of interactive activities around the museum for you to you to try!

Join in with our creative station, explore different archaeological methods and get hands-on with artefacts.

You’ll be able to have a go at making your own replica artefact and pulling it on display in the museum, just like Victorian antiquarian Thomas Bateman did with his collection.

Handle genuine archaeological finds and chat to real archaeologists from Wessex Archaeology.

Plus, find out more about some of our favourite archaeological objects in the museum on a 20-minute whirlwind tour at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.

This event is in partnership with Wessex Archaeology and is part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition Brought to Light: The Remarkable Bateman Collection, at Weston Park Museum until Sunday 15 January 2023.
