This International Women’s Day, join three designer-silversmiths – Holly Clifford, Helena Russell and Abigail Asher – whose work is currently on display at the Millennium Gallery as part of the 2020 Precious Little Gems programme.

Every year since 2005, the Sheffield Assay Office has commissioned emerging designer-silversmiths from Sheffield’s Yorkshire Artspace through the programme. The finished objects are put on display at the Millennium Gallery, before joining the metalwork collections of Sheffield Assay Office and Sheffield Museums.

In this free lunchtime talk, you’ll find out more about the development of the works, from initial inspirations to the making process, and hear about contemporary silverwork design in Sheffield
