Join Dr Lucy Brown and Hallam Roffey from the University of Sheffield for this talk about life in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, with reference to objects on display in the Sheffield Stories gallery at Weston Park Museum.
You’ll hear about affluence and consumer society, home life and community, as well as fashion and youth culture.
Find out more about the broader themes associated with this transformative period in modern British history such as ‘permissiveness’ and ‘sexual revolution’, as well as the development of a multicultural society.
