Underpants, 1991, bought in Punta Arenas, Chile and worn by Michael Palin on his Pole to Pole trip © Sheffield Museums

This tour is now fully booked, but look out for more tours coming soon.

Let us take you on an unconventional tour of Weston Park Museum and show you some fascinating, but lesser-known objects you may never have spotted before.

Never mind the Benty Grange Helmet and Spike the woolly rhino, you’ll hear tales of counterfeit coins, Victorian typos, a picture-framer-cum-burglar, and even Michael Palin’s pants.

This tour to uncover the museum’s inconspicuous objects will be taking places following government guidance on Covid-19 measures. Spaces are limited so booking is advised.
