Tune in to our Facebook page on Wed 24 Mar at 1pm for our next online talk!
Yorkshire-based paper conservator, Richard Hawkes ACR, will be talking from his conservation studio about the techniques he and his team use to conserve, restore and protect art on paper.
Richard has worked with Sheffield’s collection for many years and led the salvage of paper-based material that was damaged in the 2007 Sheffield floods. His work helps us to preserve and display works on paper, from 19th century topographical watercolours to Japanese woodblock prints and modern and contemporary art. Most recently, Richard has assisted with the challenging display of work by Donald Rodney and the BLK Art Group. His studio, Artworks Conservation Ltd, undertakes a varied array of restoration projects from Old Master drawings to Banksy screen prints.
If you can’t make the live broadcast, the video will be available to watch later on our Facebook Live page or on our Museums Sheffield Live archive page on our website.
