In 1970 protests at the Miss World contest at the Albert Hall attracted headlines around the world with women arrested and a subsequent trial - events captured in the 2020 film Misbehaviour.

This book tells the story of the protesters in the words of the rebels themselves including Sheffielder Jenny Fortune. Join her and other editors of Misbehaving as they talk about why they were protesting, what took them into the women's liberation movement as well as discussing the global beauty industry today.

Off the Shelf, delivered by the University of Sheffield, has grown into one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best-known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year. The festival programme is wide ranging and offers events featuring some of the best names in fiction and nonfiction, poetry, politics, journalism, music, history and science.
