Join Anita Sethi for a talk about I Belong Here - the first book in her nature writing trilogy.

On a journey through the Pennines in 2019 Anita Sethi became the victim of a race hate crime - an attack on her right to exist in a place on account of her race. Intent on not letting her experience stop her travelling, Anita makes a walking journey of reclamation showing this is her land too and reflects upon issues exploring themes of identity, place and belonging. Her journey transforms an ugly experience of hate into one offering hope.

Off the Shelf, delivered by the University of Sheffield, has grown into one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best-known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year. The festival programme is wide ranging and offers events featuring some of the best names in fiction and nonfiction, poetry, politics, journalism, music, history and science.
