***This event has unfortunately been cancelled. We’re sorry if you were hoping to attend. The health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff remains our number one priority and we are continuing to follow all Public Health England precautionary guidance as the international Coronavirus situation develops.***

Britishness is a creative documentary that sees filmmaker Eelyn Lee and a group of young writers from Sheffield go on a quest to find out the meaning of Britishness through poetry, interviews and discussions.

Following the screening there will be a panel discussion exploring race, identity, belonging, and the decolonisation of museums’ collections. Guest speakers on the panel include Dr Muna Abdi, a Leading Education consultant and independent researcher; Sheffield’s poet laureate Otis Mensah; Désirée Reynolds, a writer, editor, activist and broadcaster; Catherine Ross, the founder and director of the National Caribbean Heritage Museum; and Eelyn Lee, the filmmaker behind Britishness.
