David Mellor Round Building Factory

Join Museums Sheffield Friends, and gain access to this very special event - a private after-hours tour to explore the unique David Mellor Cutlery Factory & Design Museum in Hathersage.

Sheffield born David Mellor is one of the best-known 20th century British designers and internationally famous for his cutlery design. His approach to design led to many important government commissions including the traffic lights we stop at every day.

During this exclusive Friend’s evening you will hear from Mellor’s son Corrin, Creative Director of David Mellor Design, and see first-hand examples of expertly handmade silverware. After touring the Round Building, an award-winning circular factory designed by Sir Michael Hopkins, guests will have time to explore the shop and use a special on-the-night 20% discount.

This event is free for Museums Sheffield Friends. Please email melanie.russell@museums-sheffield.org.uk to book your place.
