Join Peter Kennard for a tour of his exhibition Art against War. Discover what motivated him to make specific works and how these were used in the production of posters, flyers, newspaper and magazine illustrations.
Kennard will focus on his anti-war work for the CND, and how it arose from the protests against the deployment of Cruise Missiles at Greenham Common,
He will discuss his ideas on photomontage as the ideal medium for tearing into inhumanity by revealing connections hidden in the mass media, and his belief that it is vital for artists to search for ways to counter the acceptance and normalisation of nuclear weapons through art.
In the spirit of his work everyone will be encouraged to discuss their own thoughts on art and protest.
