Our evening showcase of live craft, music, workshops and collaborative creation returns this September! Now in its fourth year, our flagship Live Late promises an evening jam-packed with live music, workshops, demonstrations, unique craft stalls and a pay bar.

This year, we’re hosting a range of different makers – come along to try something new, show off your skills or just watch and soak up the atmosphere with music curated by The Folk Forest.

This should be the perfect band to get those create juices flowing with a spring in your step. Our evening will be soundtracked by Two Birds, One Stone – a new project from members of the Sheffield high flyers - The Buffalo Skinners. Expect three part harmonies with violin, double bass and guitar, set across a collection of Folk, Country and American numbers both old and new! This should be the perfect band to get those create juices flowing with a spring in your step.They’ll be playing some upbeat acoustic bluegrass and country. Check out their recent recording ‘Yum Yum

Try your hand at sculpture and pottery as The Art House demonstrate wheel throwing, Natalie Roberts of Upsy Daisy Craft gets busy with hand building cactus pots, Angie Hardwick creates imprinted designs on clay tiles and Gill ‘The Fimo Lady’ of Gill’s Clay Creations demonstrates her intricate design process as she creates polymer birds.

If fabric’s more your thing, we have a host of textile inspired activity, including wet felting with Ali Pape Textiles and needle felting with Yo Fancy’s Xenia Li. With your help, Sheffield’s own Running with Scissors with be creating a collaborative Craft Jam Blanket. In our Japanese inspired activities, Takara Crafts will demonstrate Japanese-inspired textile design Tsumami zaiku, whilst Moira Fuller from Craftiosity offers the chance to try Japanese dyeing technique, Shibori. As if that wasn’t enough, Frankly Frances will be joining us, demonstrating how to make lovely crochet flower brooches

In the paper and printing corner, Sarah Holden of Print and Ink will be hosting collaborative lino printing, Aprille from Scarlett and Valentine will be experimenting with vegetable prints and Angela Harpham will be teaching us how to make our own beautiful paper.

Silversmiths Victoria Kershaw and Tracey Heyes will be creating hand-made decorative spoons, allowing you to try your hand at metalwork and ceramics, whilst Studio Budgie Galore return for their second year, demonstrating leather and metal working techniques to produce keyrings, bookmarks, & pendants.

If old school crafting is more your bag, there will be an opportunity to try your hand at 10th Century Viking Crafts including lucet braiding, drop spinning and weaving with Tammy Thorpe of Sigbynja Does History.

Last but not least, the talented makeup artist Mazz Hannah will offer a live full body painting demonstration throughout the evening.
