Pop-up Exhibition: All About Us

This pop-up exhibition in the Millennium Gallery’s Cadman Room showcases a range of brilliant new work created by pupils from Bankwood, Gleadless and Woodhouse West primary schools.
Inspired by Grayson Perry’s Comfort Blanket, currently on show at the Graves Gallery, the children have worked with artist Georgina Davy to look at themes of identity and what it means to be British in the 21st Century.
All About Us presents a series of giant puppets adorned with patchwork capes made by the children, who each contributed a piece of material decorated with things that are important to them. Also on display will be over 300 sock puppet portraits, reflecting how we present ourselves to the outside world.
The works have been created as part of our Start Programme of learning and engagement activity with schools, which is generously funded by Children and the Arts.

Throughout the pandemic we’ve been working hard to bring our collections, exhibitions and events to you online. However, we know not everyone can access digital content, so we're very pleased to have created a project to enable us to reach a wider audience during this often isolating time.
