Gallery 5: Identity

This spring we welcome two new major collection displays at the Graves Gallery.
The new displays in Gallery 5 look at how ideas around identity have been explored by artists including Isaac Julien, Hew Locke, Donald Rodney, Marlene Smith, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Grayson Perry.
Further new displays in Gallery 4 now shines a spotlight on how artists have experimented with colour and form, with displays including works by Avinash Chandra, Naum Gabo, Tess Jaray and Bridget Riley.
These latest redisplays are part of a five-year series of changes and improvements to the gallery generously supported by the Ampersand Foundation.
You can now dig deeper into the city’s visual art collection with Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app. Featuring audio introductions to key works, the new digital guide brings you closer to the collection, no matter where you are.
