We will visit the Ancient Egypt gallery to meet Djedma'atiuesankh, a young Ancient Egyptian who died around 650BC. We will ask her questions and find out more about her life, and how that compared to life in Britain around that time. We will set up a mummification science experiment using tomatoes that you can take back and continue in school.

Children will consider how colonialism equipped our museums with the knowledge of lives in Ancient Egypt and think about how this makes them feel. This workshop uses enquiry-based learning to encourage children to connect and empathise with Djedma'atiuesankh through a combination of research, discussion and structured debate.
