As Museums Sheffield marks the 60th anniversary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament with a showcase of work by political artist Peter Kennard, we explore 'what could have been' with a screening of the iconic BBC nuclear disaster drama, Threads.

Set in Sheffield, the film depicts the horror of a nuclear attack in South Yorkshire and the impact on rest of the country.

Made during a period of intense Cold War threat, the film is a harrowing yet timely reminder of the perils of all out war, made all the more relevant as our world becomes a more unpredictable and politically volatile place.

Please note this film is suitable for people aged 15 and over, and contains extremely distressing scenes of war and violence.
