Join leading Egyptologist, best-selling author and broadcaster, Professor Joann Fletcher of the University of York’s Department of Archaeology, as she traces the development of Egypt’s ancient civilisation from its earliest inhabitants to the last of its pharaohs.

From the rock art of Egypt’s first hunter-gatherers to the suicide of its legendary ruler Cleopatra, learn more about many of the sites filmed for Joann’s recent BBC series ‘Immortal Egypt’. Joann will also highlights some of the treasures within Sheffield’s own spectacular collection, as recently showcased in the ‘Gods’ Land in God’s County’ exhibition at Experience Barnsley, which brought together many of the little-known connections between ancient Egypt and Yorkshire.

The talk will be followed by a book signing.
