To commemorate 80 years since the bombing of Guernica Museums Sheffield will be rehanging Picasso’s 'Dream and Lie of Franco' from the city’s collection.

This etching and aquatint and prose poem will be on display in Graves Gallery. The works were started on 8 January 1938 and relate to Picasso’s large mural Guernica - they were his first outward expression of his political allegiance and were sold to support the Republican cause.

Join Mary Vincent, Professor of Modern European History at the University of Sheffield, to discuss the work in a wider social and historical context.
