Madeleine Blaess was a British student from Yorkshire who was trapped in Paris when the Germans invaded France in 1940. She wrote a daily diary about her experiences.She later became a lecturer in the French Department at the University of Sheffield and her diary was found after her death in 2003. Dr Wendy Michallat has worked with filmmaker James Parsons to produce a short film about Madeleine’s life in Paris.

Join Wendy, James and Head of Special Collections Jacky Hodgson for the premiere of the film and find out about Madeleine’s amazing story.
