This talk has now sold out. Andy Friend is also giving a shorter lunchtime talk on Monday 11 December - find out more here

Eric Ravilious is recognised as one of the most important British artists of the 20th century and his captivating watercolours and wood engravings capture the spirit of mid-century England.

What is less appreciated is that he did not work in isolation, but in a much wider network of artists.

In this illustrated talk, Andy Friend tells the story of the group from their student days through to the Second World War.

See the exhibition Ravilious & Co: The Pattern of Friendship - English Artist Designers 1922 to 1942, 7 Oct 2017–7 Jan 2018 at Millennium Gallery.
