Join us for a relaxing afternoon of drawing in the Sheffield Tap. Surrounded by impressive Edwardian plasterwork, fancy chandeliers, and a shiny microbrewery, there’ll be plenty of sketchbook fodder. Suitable for everyone, from the occasional beermat doodler to the fully fledged sketcher.
There will be a short introduction at 1.30pm, but you can drop in whenever and stay for as long as you like. Artistic help will be on hand for those who want it. All the materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own sketchbook/ iPad etc. if you prefer.
The Sheffield Tap can be found at Platform 1b, Sheffield Station, S1 2BP.
If you are looking for more inspiration, pop in to the Recording Britain exhibition at the Millennium Gallery to see a sketch of the Ashopton Inn before it was submerged by the Ladybower Reservoir.
This event is part of Drawing the Summer, a programme of exhibitions, events, and have-a-go activities to get Sheffield sketching morning, noon and night. From careful botanical drawings to super speedy charcoal sketches, awaken your inner artist and polish up your creative skills. Take a fresh look at the things around you and capture the moment or let your imagination roam.
