How do those early scribbles lead to a grasp of drawing and writing? What can we do to support children’s creativity in their communication? How do young children interact with images, and what do they understand about them? Join Dr Dylan Yamada-Rice from the School of Education, University of Sheffield, to find out more. There will be drawing games to keep young children entertained, whilst their adults enjoy the talk.

This event is part of Drawing the Summer, a programme of exhibitions, events, and have-a-go activities to get Sheffield sketching morning, noon and night. From careful botanical drawings to super speedy charcoal sketches, awaken your inner artist and polish up your creative skills. Take a fresh look at the things around you and capture the moment or let your imagination roam.
