To mark the closing of the Picture the Poet exhibition we’re delighted to welcome two internationally-acclaimed writers and performers.

John Agard is an Afro-Guyanese poet and playwright, well-known for his energetic and playful performances. In 2012 Agard won the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. Listen to him reading two of his poems on the Guardian website here

Buddy Wakefield is an American slam poet with two individual World Poetry Slam Championships wins under his best and one of the most successful performance poets anywhere in the world. Watch Buddy Wakefield performing his poem Elephant Engine High Dive Revival on youtube here

Also featuring local poets Gav Roberts and Stan Skinny. Plus, performances by local young people lead by poet and short-story writer Vicky Morris, and young people from Roundabout, lead by poet and writer Sai Murray. This work was inspired by the Picture The Poet exhibition.
