Design Your Own Plaque Competition

We know how much Sheffield loves Weston Park Museum – over 250,000 of you visit us every year.

Our Design Your Own Plaque competition is a great way for schools or groups to get creative and show their support for Weston Park. As well as a creative exercise, the competition also encourages young people to generate and communicate ideas through drawing. We’d like young people to design their own version of a plaque like the ones on our Museum Supporters’ Wall. Their plaque designs should show one or more of the things they love, from football and fashion to TV shows and games – or even their favourite exhibit at the museum!

To enter the competition, we ask that each person submitting a design gives a suggested donation of £2 which will help support all of our exhibitions, events and activities at the museum. Every school or group that donates over £50 will also join our Supporters’ Wall, with the school or group name on a special plaque featuring one of the museum’s top exhibits.

We’ll then pick a winning design from each school or group that enters - all of the winners’ designs will go on display in the Activity Room window in the heart of Weston Park Museum at the end of the competition. The winner will also receive a special gift pack, including a cuddly Snowy the Polar Bear and Weston Park stationery.
