Another chance to see the spectacular winner of last year’s Museums Sheffield Metalwork Design Award, the Lest We Forget chalice by Chris Knight. The chalice will be displayed alongside a beautiful continental counterpart from the 15th Century on loan from the V&A, illustrating the continuity of metalworking techniques over the centuries.
The partnership between the V&A and Museums Sheffield was established in 1999 to extend access to the V&A's collections outside London and enable Museums Sheffield to showcase work from one of the UK’s leading national museums in the Yorkshire region. The partnership has also allowed both organisations to learn from each other through skill and experience sharing at all levels. In January 2010, the V&A and Museums Sheffield renewed their partnership for a further five years.
