The Second Skin modular seating system recycles used car tyres. The covers are knitted in high relief using advanced industrial technology so that they fit snugly over the contours of the tyres. They are knitted in natural Shetland wool.
The project celebrates the culture of motorsport by referring to the tyre barriers often seen at race tracks but also highlights environmental issues by using recycled and natural materials.
