Jemma Sykes usually designs and makes garments and fabrics for couture houses like Givenchy, Alexander McQueen and Michiko Koshino to name but a few.
She uses unusual combinations of natural and man-made materials to produce unexpected textures and structural effects. Combining these materials with experimental hand and machine techniques she explores what it is possible to achieve with knitting techniques.
The garment featured in the exhibition has been made especially for Get Knitted.
