Craft Jam 2015

Events Assistant Laura Feltham gives us a sneak peek into the delights in store at this year’s Craft Jam:

Craft Jam is returning to the Millennium Gallery for its second year this October. After last year’s hugely popular evening of craft and music we’re delighted to have some incredibly talented makers joining us for round two.

If you head to Millennium Gallery on the evening of the 9th of October you’ll find a hive of activity to rival Weston Park’s bees! This year we’re excited to Visitors enjoying last year's Craft Jam event. be welcoming 15 of Sheffield’s most talented crafters to Craft Jam- you’ll be able to try your hand at felting, crochet, whittling, millinery, printing and much more.

Sheffield’s cycling and climbing fans are catered for too; why not hop on the Made by Scavenger Peddle Powered Sewing Machine to contribute to a collaborative piece made entirely from recycled climbing ropes. Or if print is your passion take a ride on the Peddle Powered Print Press created last year for the Tour De Yorkshire.

After all this hard work, you can treat yourself to a drink from our pay bar and settle down to have a listen to the brilliant Pons Aelius. Folk Forest are returning to curate the evening’s music and they have outdone themselves with this band.

Craft Jam is a true celebration of Sheffield and the North’s vast amount of creativity. Why not join us on the night and get your craft on?

Very much looking forward to Craft Jam! These blog articles are always a good read, could we see one which shines a light on the crucial and often unseen work of your highly skilled visitor services team please? All members i've spoken to around the galleries are a credit to Museums Sheffield and should be held in the highest regard.
