New season highlights

For starters John Martin: Painting the Apocalypse opens at the Millennium Gallery in June.  John Martin is possibly the most amazing painter you’ve never heard of. That’s about to change and we’re chuffed to host this spectacular show before it opens at Tate in London later this year.

Next up is Kid Acne’s Kill Your Darlings, also at the Millennium Gallery. This is local talent Kid Acne’s first ever solo show in his home town. We’re letting him loose on the gallery – nervous excitement about sums it up…

Then later in August we’re opening a brand new show at the Graves Gallery, curated by Museums Sheffield, on the much overlooked Blk Art Group. These artists were supported by Sheffield in the 80’s but fell out of favour in less angry times. Now seems like a good time to rediscover their message. Remember the Graves is now only open Thurs-Fri, 10am-2pm and Sat 11am-3pm.Stick To The Plan, Sheffield, 2010 © Kid Acne

Last but not least we have a host of events and activities we’d love you to take part in. From life drawing and print making, to bug identification and butter churning, check out our programme here.
