Learning Officer

Salary: £23,000

This is a 37 hour permanent post based in our Visitor Engagement department.

Learning and engagement are at the heart of a great visitor experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent communication skills. We want someone who can bring our collections alive for a range of audiences from primary school children to adults returning to education. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to think on their feet and have good attention to detail. They will also have an interest in arts, culture and heritage.

Volunteer Assistant

22.5 hours per week

Salary: £15,103.40 pro rata

Ref: MSVA 01/15

Museums Sheffield is the charitable trust responsible for delivering inspirational museums and galleries where people can reflect upon the past, question the present and imagine the future.

We work with Sheffield City Council and a wide range of partners to deliver great arts and museums for the people of Sheffield.

Volunteers play a vital role within our organisation making contributions in almost every area of what we do. Our volunteer team has grown throughout the last 24 months to nearly 200 volunteers who contribute their time and skills to help us maintain our excellent museum and gallery service.

This role is funded by Arts Council England until March 2018 and will support our Volunteer Manager in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers.

The closing date for applications is 17 February 2015 (noon).

Interviews will take place on the 19 March 2015.

Events Support Assistant

Salary: £15,103.40

Ref: MSESA 01/15

This is a 37 hour fixed term post until 31st March 2018 based in our Visitor Engagement department.

Arts Council England have awarded funding to Museums Sheffield to fund projects through to March 2018. The Events Support Assistant will support the co-ordination and delivery of a programme of profit-making, entertainment-led events that complement Museums Sheffield’s learning and exhibitions programme.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills. They will also need the ability to plan room set ups including setting up AV to a high standard and carry out this task to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to think logically and have good attention to detail. They will also have an interest in arts, culture and heritage.

The closing date for applications is Monday 16 February 2015 (noon)

Catering Assistant

A 20 hours+ position (5 days out of 7) based across 4 city centre sites (Millennium Gallery, Graves Gallery, Central Library foyer, Weston Park Museum)

- Duties include: waiting on tables, barista skills, cleaning, counter service and computerised till operation.
- Some late night working will be required (catering for a range evening events)
- The succesful candidate should demonstrate extensive/provable experience
- Basic food hygiene certificate required (training can be provided)
- Uniform will be provided
- We operate a Tronc system for gratuities
