Art and Artists
Art and Artists is a programme of work funded by Arts Council England. The project is about creating connections between diverse audiences (including schools, young people and communities) and the contemporary art programme at the Millennium Gallery.
Highlights of the Art and Artists programme include:
- My Place: a symposium, inspired by Katerina Seda: Lisen Profile exploring art, creativity and place for Sheffield’s regenerating neighbourhoods. Wednesday 4 May, at the Millennium Gallery.
- Responding to the Kid Acne exhibition “Kill your darlings” : July – October 2011. Activities include a printmaking masterclass workshop with the star of the show himself and a Museum Late event (Friday 22 July) to start the Tramlines Festival with live art and creative activities.
- A curriculum enrichment project for secondary school-age students examining the exhibition: Blk Art Group at Graves Gallery: August 2011 – February 2012.
- Tea Dance Project and performance (Wednesday 9 November) in partnership with Sheffield Theatres for the exhibition: Ian Breakwell ‘The Other Side’: Millennium Gallery: October 2011 – January 2012.

Weekend show of support for city's museums and galleries
This weekend's Shefftopia event saw the Millennium Gallery overrun with picnic blankets, pop-up craft activites and as much good will as one building can house, while Weston Park hosted a creative celebration with the city's communities.
